A wonderful pair of dark tortoise shell or horn wig spectacles circa late 18th to early 19th century.
These are known as wig spectacles due to the short, straight temples designed to avoid getting caught in a powdered wig.
The lenses are magnifying. Perfect for catching up on your Latin in a dark candlelit room.
