The League to Save Lake Tahoe came up with the famous slogan “Keep Tahoe Blue” back in 1973, when the saying was first printed on a bumper sticker to raise awareness about water clarity in Lake Tahoe, the second deepest freshwater lake in the U.S. which straddles the California/Nevada border. The organization has been dedicated to restoring and protecting the environmental health of the Lake Tahoe Basin for decades now.
